Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Screenings

A simple blood test to measure Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is offered to men, usually 40 and older.

  • PSA is a protein enzyme found in the blood and semen of all men. An elevated PSA level in the blood may be a warning sign for prostate cancer.
  • The test provides an individual baseline that can be monitored over time. Often, it is recommended as an annual test for men older than 40. It is best to consult with a physician for a personal recommendation.
  • Results can be accessed using our secure donor connect portal a few days after testing. In addition, all tested will receive mailed reports about two weeks after testing. It is the individual’s responsibility to share this information with a physician(s) who will track results and advise further action as appropriate.

Blood donation is not required for purchased tests.

Please contact the center where you plan to get your test for current fees.
Payment is due at the time of testing by cash or check payable to Oklahoma Blood Institute.

PSA screening can also be purchased through our Donor Rewards Program.
